Effect of NAA, IBA and IAA on Rooting of Syringa velutina Miss Kim Stem Cuttings

Abstract
Softwood stem cutting of ¢¥Miss Kim¢¥ lilac, which is dwarf type of ornamental shrub derived from Syringa velutina native to Korea, were cut on mid-May, and treated with varied level of NAA, IBA and IAA by solution dip method. Among NAA concentrations and dipping durations, the best survival rate and percent rooting were attained 50 §·¡¤L^(-1) with 3 seconds. And 100% rooting of the cutting was achieved 100 to 2,000 §·¡¤L^(-1) IBA and 2,000 §·¡¤L^(-1) IAA with 3 seconds basal dip treatment. Root number and length were markedly increased by 50 §·¡¤L^(-1) NAA, 2,000 §·¡¤L^(-1) IBA and IAA with 3 hours basal dip treatment, respectively. Stem cutting of ¢¥Miss Kim¢¥ lilac had the best percent rooting at 10 to 2,000 §·¡¤L^(-1) IBA with 3 seconds, and had the most number and root length at 1,000 to 2,000 §·¡¤L^(-1) IBA with 3 hours treatment.
